The brief/project
LDS were asked to measure and draw street elevations along a 600m stretch of new development, both as a record of what had been built and also for planners to be able to assess the impact of further development
The solution
Data was collected using our TX8 long-range scanners, supplemented by a series of control scans using our SX10 total station. This allowed the 73 scans to be fitted together and registered with confidence. The data was then imported into our CAD system and street elevations were produced to include full architectural detail on the buildings as well as street furniture and garden/boundary features
The outcome
The street elevations produced by LDS were provided to the client, giving them a full and accurate record of what was built. The client was also able to pass these drawings on to planners in order for the impact of proposed future developments to be evaluated. Approval for further development could then be sought based on the solid information provided
